Message from the Historic Eastfield Foundation Board of Trustees:

Dear Supporter of Eastfield Village,

As most of you undoubtedly know Don Carpentier, the “Squire” of Eastfield, passed away last August after a long and spirited fight with ALS. Many have voiced concern about what would happen with the Village and the annual workshop program that helped make Eastfield renowned in the historic preservation community.

Fortunately, back in 1990 Don anticipated the day he would no longer be holding the reins, and thus established the Historic Eastfield Foundation. Over the years the Foundation supported Don in his work and now has stepped into the breach to continue the “Eastfield Experience.”

Our first major endeavor will be the continuation of the Annual Series of Workshops in Early American Trades and Historic Preservation. This year’s schedule of classes has been set and we invite you to view our current offerings and to register for the classes.

Don’s unique skills and passion can never be replaced, but the Foundation is determined to continue his legacy. We hope the transition will be smooth, and we appreciate your patience and support as we embark on the next phase in the life of Historic Eastfield Village.

With Best Regards,

Peter Schaaphok

President, Historic Eastfield Foundation
