Peter and Ingrid Schaaphok first visited Eastfield in 1979 and were instantly smitten by Don Carpentier’s unique creation. They have been active in the Village ever since, attending classes, organizing living history events, and serving on the HEF Board. 

Peter has been a trustee of the Foundation since its inception in 1993, serving as president from 2003 until 2015. Ingrid has served as the Foundation’s secretary since 2012. Both have been involved in the planning and execution of many programs and events at the Village over the years and are dedicated to preserving Carpentier’s vision and legacy.

Peter and Ingrid are long-time devotees of living history, are active members of the Brigade of the American Revolution, and have served on the boards of various historical societies and arts organizations.

The Schaaphoks are the owners of VPS Control Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of mechanical control systems located in Hoosick, NY.
