Eastfield Village was painstakingly assembled by one of the foremost preservation arts experts, Don Carpentier. It is the campus for the Annual Series of Early American Trades and Historic Preservation Workshops, a nationally renowned program of lectures, symposia and hands-on classes.
The not-for-profit Historic Eastfield Foundation was established in 1993 to ensure that Don Carpentier's passion and vision are carried on into the future.
Our Mission:
To provide training in a range of early American history, trades and historic preservation skills, encourage craftspersons and preservationists in their efforts to save the technology of the past, and maintain facilities necessary to further the Foundation’s educational objectives.
Our Vision:
Historic Eastfield builds upon the founder’s vision as a laboratory for immersive, hands-on learning about America’s pre-industrial crafts, trades and lifestyle in a unique and authentic period setting.
Bringing together the leaders in the fields of historic preservation and the material arts, Eastfield informs and trains those who will preserve and learn from the past in order to protect and inform the future.
