Peter Forward
Board of Trustees, Vice President
Peter has been working wood for well over 40 years - since his first commissioned pieces at the age of 17 – a dining set with table, chairs and corner bench. Although he studied Computer Science and worked for eleven years as a Network Engineer, he also spent summers apprenticing in cabinet shops and then continued to practice woodworking as a sideline. In 1996 he made the decision to pursue his passion for woodworking full time and spent the next 25 years as a self-employed carpenter and cabinetmaker, well known for the quality of his workmanship. In 2016 he moved his focus to primarily furniture making, with a particular interest in 18th century American and Shaker furniture. He enjoys using and teaching traditional hand working methods. Peter has served on the board of the Historic Eastfield Foundation since 2020.
